The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Thank you all very very much for the support of the last two weeks!

I´m overwhelmed

I got 14,000 messages in 14 days, especially of these two shots:

and of course something other. Now I have 4,000 messages, some really important notes and 700 deviantions over. I will try to reply and comment fast, because I don´t like it when my inbox is so full

and you have to wait so long!

_{sooo als erstes: wunderwunderwunderschönes feature vielen lieben dank, dass ich da auch mit meinem bild dabei sein darf
glückwunsch auch zu deinem wie schon mehrfach erwähtnen erfolg! freut mich wahnsinnig für dich! und das alles nuir zu recht wünsch dir viel erfolg beim drucharbeiten, ich kenn das so gut...grad mit arbeit und allem hab momentan auch fast 800 devs in der inbox und etliche messages
deine neuen bilder sind wirklich allesamt traumhaft schön, jedes auf seine eigene art und weise
das mit der handschrift hab ich dir ja auch geschrieben, bei dem einem bild, weil ich finde, mein vorposter hat es einfach nur perfekt damit auf den punkt gebracht
oft sah ich deine bilder schon vorm einloggen hier auf dA...also bei "popular...8 hours" und dachte mir, das hat doch die christina gemacht oder! wieder so klasse farben, schärfe und motive und super abgestimmte titel. fühl dich an dieser stelle einfach mal geknuddelt und geliebt dafür ich bin so glücklich,dich hier auf dA gefunden zu haben
wenn deine arbeiten eines NICHT sind...dann chaotisch oder zusammengewürfelt oder sonst irgendwas...sie sind von dir, jedes ist ein unikat und auf seine eigene art und weise schön.
